Emailed again with all information and there was no reply. Emailed Amazon about this, first response was not helpful. I wound up paying for the 2 day shipping and it took longer than 2 days.
Works great. Wasn't too pleased with Amazon's delivery. I purchased this item for a client to be used in a kids'bunkroom, using it with the Epson Duet screen.
I was supposed to have gotten free 2 day Prime shipping, but didn't. A little disappointed in customer service. Will also be ordering another one for a client for outdoor "movie night" Have to be careful as to placement in room though and consider distance to screen and where to place the projector.
Client loves it.
My entire family is enjoying this projector. Picture is terrific and the FUN is absolutely priceless. Then, we played Wii on it and just for giggles, I hooked it up to my laptop to see what viewing pleasure could be found on that. I've only had this item for a few weeks, but so far everything about it is perfect. This is the EASIEST projector I have ever used. I purchased this machine for the sole use of using it outside for "drive in" movie nights.
We had a backyard of very happy teenagers watching scary movies until the wee hours of the morning. I also purchased a blow up screen for outdoor use and a pull down screen for inside making it a very versatile item. So far I've used it for so much more. The sound quality is incredible. For me, this is best item I have purchased in a very long time. Yes, we have had one night without rain and were able to use it.
AMAZING.
The only thing they did to this was make it black and add a handle. This is almost impossible to even line it up on a wall let along the 80 inch screen. LAst but not least for a slap in the face, the older model had an output for a subwoofer - this DOESNT - just an output for amplifier. This unit has 8 watt speakers and arent even Jensen like the older 30s model.
This unit is being tauted as the next step up from the Moviemate 30 and has a brighter bulb. VERY DISAPOINTED EPSON as I was gonna send this back and get the 72 but will wait for that ones price to drop further. ARGH. BIG DEAL.
The older model also had OPTICAL zoom, this one has DIGITAL. My advice - IF you can find the Epson Moviemate 30s GET THAT ONE. The Moviemate 30 had: Horizontal and Vertical Lens Shift - The 55 does not. The so called 5.1 dts virtual surround sound is PATHETIC compared to the Moviemate 30's 2 10 watt stereo speakers.
It was awesome. He thinks the picture is better than our big screen TV. Fingers crossed, we set this Epson Movie Mate 55 up in front of a 110 inch screen of white photo background paper, plugged in a computer speaker set with sub woofer, turned it on and stuck in a DVD.
The DVD player makes it all worth the not too expensive price. And its way more portable.Pros: compact, light, has sound, good video, no computer needed, good remote control, good settings for different lighting situations, great picture. Banquet saved. My husband plans on using this to view music video DVDs outside in the summer time on the 110 inch screen.
We bought this in a panic to show a video presentation at a banquet after the school projector was found to be too problematic. The sound was awesome as well. This player performed flawlessly. Quiet Cons: none so far.Highly recommended.
WOW. From 100 feet away the picture was bright, clear and just stunning.
I also don't care for the fact that the owner's manual is on cd so it can't be taken along to deal with those inevitable technical difficulties. I did figure out that you can hit pause and it will pause the slide show but you have a nice ugly pause symbol on your photo. I don't mind that I have to create slides as jpeg files instead of just creating a PowerPoint.
However, the slide options need to be enhanced to offer more user friendliness.I called Epson customer service and was told that no there is no way to turn off the auto slide transition. Also, sometimes the machine seemed to have a mind of its own and forward without being manually un-paused. I would have thought this would be a no-brainer.
I bought this item with the idea of using it for presentations. The fact that you can just take along this device and a thumb drive without having to lug a laptop along is great. Another thing that would have been nice is to be able to go back a slide if you wanted to without having to go to the menu.of course this machine isn't meant to be used for presentations apparently, although if Epson had been smart they would have made it more user friendly for this purpose.
What I do mind is that so far I can't figure out if there is a way to turn off the automatic slide show where it won't auto advance the slides. At $650, and more elsewhere, you would think Epson wouldn't be so cheap on user's manuals.I think with a little tweaking and some good instructions, this product would be a dynamite seller for those who travel and do slide presentations.
